Katy Perry and Jadyn Maria are BFF and have known each other for years…… Katy has said Jadyn is "like my little sister".

Coincidentally, both these ladies got their start in Christian music but then switched gears to pursue pop superstardom…… perhaps there’s a connection….

Katy and Jadyn are very supportive of each other’s artistic endeavors, and even lend a helping hand from time to time. The next time you watch Katy Perry’s video for “Hot N Cold”, keep an eye out for Jadyn as one of her lovely bridesmaids.

Katy returned the favor by composing the title track for Jadyn’s debut album, and went as far as to Twitter, "Just finished working on Man's World with Jadyn...I can bet my career that the song will be a #1"

Katy Perry on new grown up sound

Katy Perry says the follow up to her debut album One of the Boys will be a more grown up affair.

It's been non-stop for Katy Perry since her arrival on the pop scene last year.

While she wraps a few more festivals in Europe her attention is now turning to her next record.

She told Newsbeat: "I'm looking to make a record that's more honest and it's going to be different.

"I'm not trying to alienate my fans necessarily but One of the Boys was written from 17 to 23 and now I'm 24 so my perspective on life has changed."

It's been a non-stop round of gigs and promoting material for Katy and she's looking forward to a bit of a break.

She said: "I've just been going, going, going. I started this whole thing in May 2008. I'm going to take a couple of weeks break in September."

Emotional side

"I definitely need to recharge and I'm starting my new record in October. I'm so excited, I'm like a volcano. I'm ready to explode - literally."

Katy says her experiences of the past year won't be reflected in her writing though.

"I'm not looking to make a record about: 'Hey, I got famous this year and you didn't... blah blah blah. This relates nothing to you'," she said.

"It might be emotional but I don't think it's going to be sad emotional. It's just going to be completely packed with what you want to hear about what I think.

"Everyone asks me: 'What do you think about this? What do you think about that? And about this person?'

"I don't really comment about that in public but I take it to the pen and I get nasty."

Katy Perry Grows Up...Not.

Katy Perry wouldn’t be Katy Perry without her penchant for contradictions. Perry recently claimed she’s had it with her hard-partying ways, saying, "My motto has always been: live life to the full because at the end you're dead. But I'm starting to mellow a bit. I still believe in taking risks in my music, but I've realized that I can't party like I used to and expect to remain focused on my work.” She continued, “I've seen too many people live that way and almost wreck their careers. That's not going to happen to me. I'm still full on, but these days I see the wisdom in having a good night's sleep."

So has Perry finally matured to become a serious musician? Not so fast. While Perry may trade her late nights for staying in, she’s not over digging at her musical competition, most notably Lily Allen.

The two have a longstanding history of drama. Perry famously described herself as a "fatter version of Amy Winehouse and the skinnier version of Lily Allen" to which Allen replied, “She was signed by my label in America as, ‘We need to find something controversial and kooky like Lily Allen.’ And then they found her.” Allen also threatened to reveal Perry’s digits over facebook.

With Perry’s newfound distaste for hard partying, it would seem logical that she would also abandon her catty ways, but Perry promises her new album will contain plenty of commentary on pop rivals. Perry says, “Everyone asks me, 'What do you think about this? What do you think about that? And about this person?' I don't really comment about that in public but I take it to the pen and I get nasty.”

So what does getting “nasty” entail? A rumored anti-Allen song. Are you sure about that? The party may be over for Perry, but her high school state of mind is here to stay.

FEISTY pop princess Katy Perry sent hearts a-flutter during a sun-baked set at Balado on Saturday.

The Californian singer took to a baby pink Radio1/NME stage decked out with oversized flamingos and giant inflatable strawberries.

Sporting a revealing tartan dress and flanked by a band clad in ‘50s cream suits, she looked every inch the pop diva on her T in the Park debut.

But songs such as One Of The Boys and You’re So Gay meant Kinross-shire soon heard the shaky vocals that undermine her polished image.

However, once the strawberries had been launched into the crowd – and some gold glitter had been sprinkled from above for good measure – things started to pick up for the charismatic songstress.

Shunning hordes of advances from amorous prospective husbands, she hopped from the stage and hoisted an enormous inflatable cherry chapstick, more often referred to as cherry lip balm on this side of the Atlantic, into the air.

A sure-fire sign that girly anthem I Kissed A Girl was imminent, Perry was almost drowned-out as she finally gave the crowd what they wanted to hear.

Queen’s disco staple Don’t Stop Me Now was given a slight re-working, which allowed those sucked-in by the spectacle to stretch their vocal chords still further.

Given the vocal range the fans had been treated to until this point, this helping hand was no bad thing.

Katy Perry looks amazing in her various bikinis. What's her secret? According to a recent interview with Cosmo, her favorite way to exercise is jumping rope. Not only does it burn calories — 295 per 30 minutes — but jumping rope also helps build bone-mineral density and makes your body stronger.

It's a simple and inexpensive way to get your heart rate up; use it as your main form of cardio or to warm up before strength training. Katy even jumps rope as a warmup before shows. Since this little gadget is so portable, you can pack it in your gym bag, suitcase, car, and even your purse and always have a way to get in a good workout.

Calvin Harris Working with Kylie Minogue, Katy Perry

As a recording artist, Calvin Harris is really a producer who sometimes likes to play the pop-star leading man, but he clearly likes to dress up other artists, mainly women, in shiny pop-disco tracks. To that end, Harris recently told MTV News that he'll be working with Kylie Minogue (again) and Katy Perry.

"I'm going out to work with Katy [Perry] in December," said Harris. "Oh and Kylie early next year - I can't wait!"

So it's safe to say that you can probably expect new, danceable tracks from both of those performers in 2010, much like this one.
